I've known about these amps for a few years but never tried one. Since my available budget has increased over the last week, I'm considering alot of different amps & am considering these babies - anyone tried one or even heard of them?
I'm going primarily for an amp with a brutal distortion channel - clean/crunch channels would be a bonus but not necessary.
Checkout the MP3s on their website - tasty!!!
btw, my mate got a Randall Titan on Sunday, it's a very nice amp indeed - I may end up with one too, all depends on how they work with overdrives as it doesn't quite have enough gain as I'd like.

You on about a "mod" HTH or a gen. Voodoo head?
To be honest, with my lilmited exp./ears, they don't sound anything WOW for what they cost (thats for a gen. head/not mod.).
Seem's more could be gotten for the $$$$$$$$$
-
just a Voodoo amp as it comes - the clips of the Hex & Witchdoctor amps sound cool but you really need to listen through a hi-fi to get the full benefit since there was no bass through my laptop's speakers.

last clip had some nice heaviness to it. Just seem's hellish expensive is all.
Still, look well made so ya never can tell.
That amount of $$$$ am sure once you actually try one, you'll know :)
Good luck

He (Trace?) does really good work; they're right upstate from where I live. I know a bunch of dudes with amps modded by him.
The work is comparable to Scott Splawn. I just prefer Splawn.
Can't fault Voodoo, though -- really good product!!

Is that both proprietory stuff and the Mods TO?
I am not feeling the "wood" heads, but they def. are different.
-
Yeah, both the mods (Mostly in 800s) and his original amps.
When it comes to Marshall-inspired amps, personally, I'm drawn to a different sound. Voodoo's reputation, build quality, and customer service are TOP NOTCH, though!!!

very cool.
You got some NICE folks up your way. Not so many amp guru's this south. Think Krank would be my closest in AZ.
Gotta be expensive to get in the UK though I would think.
-
Tell me about it! NYC is just plain DANGEROUS, no matter what your vice is.
Math2014 was looking for an amp, and everything I suggested was shot down due to insane UK prices. (Buddah, Rivera, one other I can't recall)
-
Yep, and I am stuck due to the voltage. If bought one here were can afford it it would be a nice ornament/huge paperweight when I move back to Ole Blighty :(
-
BTW your singer looks familiar.
But, know she is not. A female metal group came to UK and toured with us years ago. All from NY and singer looked amazingly like yours. She was of Russian origins if I remember.

thanks for the replies, I've spoken to Trace via email quite a few times over the years - he's an Ampage regular and has helped me out alot with mods & amp problems.
$1600 (£920) isn't outragous for a handwired amp of this caliber, certainly when you consider that a Mesa DR has an average street price of £1500 ($2600).
