Title: Reverse polarity humbucker wiring.
Post by: Algiman on October 30, 2015, 01:17:41 PM
A couple of questions about reverse polarity humbuckers.
Assuming the neck has been supplied reversed, does that now mean that the screw coils are North and the slugs South?  I think some manufacturers have them the opposite way round for neck and bridge pickups.

Secondly, does the wiring also reverse, or is red still the start of the North coil (now the screw coil), green the finish of the North etc?

Thanks

Screw is south and slug is north with BKPs, as I read out of their diagramms. Then, if the neck is reversed it should be the other way around as I understand it. The wiring should not change though.
I am guessing this a flipped magnet type thing to make autosplit middles, Petrucci wiring, operate in humcancelling mode.

Indeed, and also for operation with the PRS-style rotary selector to keep the single coil combinations in positions 2, 3 and 4 humcancelling.
