Hey guys.
Just a quick thread about some stuff I've picked up over the last few weeks incase anyones vaguely interested
Some of you may know that I've been trying to sell some of my stuff for a while now and I've not had much interest. Then kind of out of the blue a local guy offered me a Marshall DSL100 as trade for my BC Rich Gunslinger that I wasn't using (been replaced with my old Kramer and a Stormshadow VH150) so I thought I'd take him up on the offer as I'd not had anything else come my way.

I'm not much of a fan of the Red/Lead/Distortion channel but I do really like the Green/Clean/Crunch channel with the gain up and a boost infront. Whilst I don't think it sounds quite good as my Splawn Quick Rod, that's been my main amp for the last 5 years so I'm very used to it's tone, the DSL does have a rawness to it that the Splawn lacks sometimes. Almost like it's too refined sounding at times. I can't think how else to describe it! The band I use that rig for gigs a lot so the DSL will be handy incase anything happens at a gig, always good to have a spare amp I've found.
Next up we have this:

It's a 2004 Gibson Les Paul Standard Limited Edition in Black Cherry. It's not a very good pic really as it's darker than it looks in my pics, I just can't seem to get a good shot of it. I got it in a trade a few days ago for a few other guitars I've not used in a while.
It needs a restring as the strings on it atm are atleast 3 years old and a neck tweak as I plan on using 11s or 12s on it in Eb tuning, but other than that I'm happy with it.
I have a spare set of Abraxas knocking around that I'm thinking about trying in this guitar at somepoint, but they're tremspaced so I'm not sure how well they'll suit?
Cheers!
Craig

Great chatches. The Les Paul looks fab. I would try the Abraxas-set in it for sure.

Agreed, the Gibson looks gorgeous, congratulations

Cheers guys

That LP is a great colour. And even though it's "wrong", I think the bound headstock and flowerpot inlay look really good on that model. And I like the tuners.

Cheers Philly.
Here's a few shots of it with it's siblings:

Sweet  It's a while since I've tried a DSL but I think they seem to have that rep, that people tend to like the green channel most. That sometimes happens with dearer amps too, they can nearly sound too "good" sometimes compared to the cheaper amps which are often rawer. I haven't tried the splawn but I know exactly what you mean, I've often noticed the same.
Does the LP have an ebony board or is it just dark rosewood? Either way it looks really good, suits the colour very well.

Lovely stuff that. The LP looks awesome. I must agree on the colour, so nice. Congrats!

Cheers guys
Its an Ebony fretboard on the Cherry LP Dave

Love the cherry LP! Nice setup too

Yep I like that LP. A nice little collection you have there.
-
Great group of LPs there - the one on the far right wins by an absolute mile though!

Cheers guys!

Nah not atm. Gets its Bulldogs tomorrow.

I loved the DSL I borrowed from a mate, even the red channel sounded great to me. Always been tempted to try and pick up a cheap one but it's probably too similar to my Laney to bother and I never gig now anyway haha.
