Title: Strat Set?
Post by: everyemptyvein on November 28, 2015, 11:58:12 PM
So if anyone remembers, I made a topic a while ago regarding Strat hum buckers but I've changed some specs for pickups.

In the bridge, I want a hum bucker that is capable of getting good crunchy pop-punk tones. In the neck I want a P90 that is good for leads.

Any suggestions?

What timbers has your strat en what amp(s) you have?

To go a different route, I would check out a Supermassive- and the Stockholm-set.  The bridge-versions are ferocious. Based upon these two clips I'm leaning towards the Supermassive (has a tad more sparkle).

It has an alder body with a maple neck/fretboard

i still say i had a killer pop punk tone with the bare knuckle crawler even though its not really thought of much for that style.

playing starts late in the video

but yeah i'd consider a supermassive p90 in the neck. the stockholm neck is great but its a little bassy for my tastes. i think the supermassive would be the way to go.

Crawlers do well in strats, but not sure the OP wants a round middy pickup. It's got bite enough, but I guess the punch of a P90 might do the trick here.
