I have a pair of creme HDs which I want to put in a dark grey PRS Singlecut but want covers. What is the best solution for this? Can I just buy some covers anywhere and put them on? Do they need to be wax potted?
Cheers,
Jim

Wax potted and soldered to the base plate. Perfect job would be to send them to BKP to have them fitted, but it's not cheap: £20 ponds per pickup + shippings.

You can do it yourself if fancy some DIY. I've potted quite a few pickups at home in an old tin on the cooker. But if this is a one off job, probably better to leave it to the pros that mess around with that.

you only need repotting if you start getting feedback noise
I tend to remove the covers of all my pickups over time and swap covers around and never needed to get them potted properly
if youre' really worried about it, you could sell them and then buy a covered set
double cream used bk pickups are hard to find, so you'll probably sell them quick
I was looking for some creamies myself months ago and ended up with zebra pups (that I'm actually not fond of) and added covers later
if they were double cream, I wouldn't bother putting covers on them
