Title: Emma Discombobulator?

Anyone here tried the Emma Discombobulator envelope filter pedal?  I was talking with a friend about envelope filters to get Garcia-style lead tones (without actually looking to score vintage Mutrons!), and he mentioned this one, which I hadn't heard of.  The press I see online looks cool, but I wondered if anyone had actually used one?

Brow has a pedal from Emma. They make very good products.
Sorry, don't know about this particular product, tho.

O/T: When Brow was in NYC, we went pedal shopping one day, and had an interesting shoot-out between the Emma fuzz pedal and the HBE Big D ...

Hey Guys,

I've tried one here in the shop and it's really cool, can't say i'm well up on Garcia's tone but it's still a very usable pedal for an envelope filter as they can normally take a good guitar tone and turn it to mush.

Well worth checking out the whole EMMA range, the Rezzafratzitz  is well worth checking out too.

Does the Discumbobulator (and, indeed, the other Emma pedals) run off batteries?  I know various people who like the Q-tron sound better than the mini Q-tron (or maybe this is just an attempt to justify the higher price they paid ;)), but I've always leaned towards the mini Q-tron largely because I want something I can run anywhere off a battery without worrying about the flavour of electricity coming out of the wall.

The mini Q-tron is, of course, also way cheaper than the likes of the Discumbobulator :), but I don't buy piles of pedals (anymore ;)) and would probably pay more for the thing that was really gonna fit the bill.

I have an EMMA ReezaFRATzitz, as TO mentioned above.

It can run off batteries, but I use a pedalboard power supply so I don't power it from batteries myself.
