Evenin' lads! I am looking for a humbucker with great splits that will sound good in a brighter guitar. The guitar has a Holydiver in the bridge, which is an alright splitter but nothing special. I have good experience with the VHII as an extremely good splitter, but only in darker sounding guitars. Tried it in a quite bright sounding PRS Mira as well, and the split tones were too thin and bright. The Crawler neck is also a nice splitter with rounder tones from what I have read, but I am afraid it would be a bit too round? I would like as authentic strat tones as possible! :cheesy:

Crawler or Abraxas would probably be your best bet.
The alnico version of the Warpig would also split well but might not give the tones you want.

Thanks a lot! Both Abraxas and Crawler are PAF-like which is right up my alley! I should also mention that I really love the Mule in my Les Paul's neck position, I guess the Abraxas is the closest to that? Which one would you say is the warmest/roundest sounding?

I haven't used either of them, only the Warpig. But I've repeated the conventional wisdom around here to save you some time.
The Abraxas would be closest to the Mule

The Crawler has the best splits I've ever come across by a country mile. It's better than most genuine single coils I've tried! The pickup itself is also warm, thick and rich sounding so it sounds like it would suit you very well. The Crawler is the best Bare Knuckle pickup I've used and is the only bridge pup I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Crawler and Abraxas both split very well.
Cheers Stephan

Alright, ordered the Crawler neck (+ nantucket set), expensive but great stuff!
I now have four guitars fully equipped with BKPs and one with BKP in the bridge only, and they all sound great!

can confirm the crawler sounds great split.
