Title: Stormy Mondays - Prog Rock
Post by: JCN1218 on June 23, 2016, 04:46:06 AM
Nobody's Angel by Cabinets of Curiosity

Featuring Stormy Mondays by BKP!

This song shows off my favorite way to play with a set of Stormy Mondays, and that is with the switch in the middle position. The original audio I recorded is pretty faithful in this final product. I only ended up using some light EQ (slight top boost) and some very light compression during the mixing stages. Hopefully it gives you a good idea of what these pickups can do in a pretty full band setting. If you enjoy the song, please check out the rest of our EP and let me know what you think!

Signal Chain:
Epiphone ES-175 Premium (With matched set of SM, switch set to middle position)
Vox AC15C2, Top Boost Channel
Keeley Katana Clean Boost pedal set to about 6 (Used on guitar solo only)
AEA R84 Ribbon mic placed about 5 in. off of grill cloth on speaker center
Universal Audio Apollo Twin (UA 610-B Preamp emulation/ Studer Tape Simulation)
Macbook Pro running Pro Tools 11

Haha WTH was that!

I felt like I was in a late 60's French cafe for a moment.  Very different and fun ride lol.

Love it. Reminds me of being very stoned early 70s listening to Van Der Graff.

I like the freakiness and the fact it's played quite clean. Yeah, it's a jazzy rollercoaster, but it's so nice to hear something like this between all those metal and doom-clips members post here. Refreshing timewarp. Zappa would have loved it (I guess  :cheesy:)
