Title: Good earphones for ipod/computer music late at night
Post by: _tom_ on April 02, 2006, 12:22:24 AM
I am sick of the Ipod earphones hurting my ears, not to mention their cr@p quality. Which headphones are the best which arent in ear, or huge beasts. I like the clip on ones like these the best, they seem to give you good sound, and dont look as stupid as big ass ones

Anyone used these? Opinions?

Cheers.

I just bought a set of these for using at work, and on the iPod:

Great sound, light, comfy and they fold up into a nice neat carry case.

Try these, theyre loud, comfortable and they leak almost no sound at all.

hmm I dunno if I wanna spend that much money on in ear ones, I've never found in ear to be comfortable atall. Also, Muttley I've heard cheap Senheisers arent much cop but you seem to love em so..

I've also heard Koss Porta-pro are very good for the money, which is why I thought I'd look at those Koss clip on ones.

I used to hate in ear until I started using these as they are actually comfortable.

Game (the games shop) actually do a copy of them for about 7 quid which arnt too bad (and an even better copy for about 13 with Neodymium magnets just like the Sonys).

They are cheaper than the sonys and apparently the foam provides a custom fit..?

+1 with Feline.
I wanted to upgrade my Apple Nano headphones.
Did a ton of research and a/b testing.
Finally bought set of Ultimate Ears 5pro.
Yeah not cheap (although prob. lot cheaper here) but excellent dual driver in ear monitors.
The wire is bendable at the actual monitor to form around your ear. The cable is replaceable seperately (if ever broken). Comes with great metal storage/carry case. Also comes with attenuator, adaptor, cleaning device, several different sets of ear tips.
As said, probably way more than ya wanna pay though.
i had the sony set but they coloured the sound ALOT.
To get a good sound a price has to be paid.
The nano, which does not have best eq of the Apples, I run on flat eq with the UE as they are that good. I did NOT get the UE5pro B series as B is for bass and is VERY boomy for like hip hop and rap stuff.

hmm I havent seen anywere in the UK but I'm guessing they are too expensive.. especially for in ear which may not even be comfy for me.. Anyway I've been recommended some Sennheiser pmx60 which look comfy and apparently sound good with the lower output devices such as Ipods..
