If anyone remembers my ramblings about the possibility of a Warpig P90, I spoke to Tim today and he has took the job on. I'm expecting this beast of a pickup at the weekend with any luck or early next week.
I'm gonna do some sound clips through my own amp (a Dual Rectifier-esque amp I made) and also my other guitarist's JCM800 2203 with the obligatory SD-1 boosting the front end.
We have our own rehearsal studio so I'll be able to crank the amps - hopefully there will be some nasty sound clips coming your way very soon 8)

Look forward to hearing it!

Oh goody, goody! Can hardly wait for pics and those soundclips! :guitar4:
-
awesome - hurry up! :D
-
Any particular riffs people want to hear with the P90 Warpig? - Sabbath is an obvious choice and I'll be playing some of that anyway
I was actually thinking of getting Tim to coil tap the 'Pig so I can get a lower output from it too which is more in line with a vintage P90. Think it's probably too late now though (my fault, doh).

Children Of The Grave would be my first choise

Tim is making me a tapped H/B size P-90. I had the same idea as you for the sound, tapping it to give a lower output for rhythm/clean sounds.

HTH, Look what we posted today...

Oh my god! That is the meanest looking pickup I have ever seen!
I want a guitar for some of those. (Need to find a pot o' gold)

heh heh, I knew it would look a mean mother$%er. hopefully it'll get here for Saturday morning, if not then I'll miss delivery on Monday and have to pick the package up at the post office depot before work on Tuesday.

As I predicted, Parcelforce just stuck a postcard through my door so no Warpig this weekend. I was in the house too, they're bloody useless.

What are you doin' sittin' here behind your computer? Run, go after him! You can still catch him up! Grab that mo :censored: cker!

The card was timed 20 minutes before I actually found it on my doormat, he'd have been long gone :x
Good news though, I've been tweaking my high-gain mofo of an amp and it's 99% to how I want it to sound, mwuhahahahaaaa!!!!

Evil Evil Evil
How about playing The Wizard for the clips - the riff would really would bring out the evil that exudes from the pickup

I smell brimstone coming out of my modem. PDT_045
-
Brimstone, heh heh - I've just got back from our studio cranking my new amp creation and it is a beast of an amp, I might just cristen it the 'Brimstone' model :D

Weve found a way to distress a normal soapbar cover!
-
Guess what's on it's way HTH :D
-
I always thaught normal p-90 covers were plastic. Is it plastic? How did you do it, Steve?
(Somehoe it doesn't look as evil as the dog ear)
-
we got a chrome plated plastic cover, and basically done the same as the dog ear. We just couldn't go so agressivly with the sander because there isn't much chome on them!
