I've been participating in this forum for about 2 weeks now, and I haven't read one single post by a female. Are there no female guitarists in search for the optimum tone, not hesitating to take the solder iron and fix some pickups into their guitars?
Dudes, help me out here, are there no dudettes around?

In my experience the "dudettes" are more concerned with how a song makes them feel and couldn't care less about the gear.
In fact, 99% of the girls I've seen play the guitar just strum chords and sing. Maybe you need to find some lyric-writing forums. ;)

you just described me by the way, and im 6'4 of pure manly-ness

I know on another forum I go to there's a girl who cares about pickups and the like, but it's true to say she's the exception rather than the rule.
My sister would buy guitars (correction: tell me to buy guitars, damn cheapskate!) based on how they look, with little or no regard to how they sound (she wouldn't want a westfield or anything, but still...)

girls don't like technical stuff its a fact whereas men love it. all the female musicians I know are pianists who do the whole classical thing because they were forced to as kids lol.

Yeah, that's mostly true. You see girls playing classical music on violins, pianos, and so forth, but you almost never find girls who are as good on the guitar.
-
I guess you have to think of it in probability terms.
How many % of girls are into technical stuff? Also, how many % of girls are guitarists? Times the two together and the number you'll get is extremely small.

Maybe we need to court some Bareknuckle "Groupies". Oops, maybe not, Sambo has that covered LOL

well he has made some dubious "freudian slips" of late lol
Too enthusiastic by far at times me thinks :)

lol, you should be sambos mentor dakine, teach him a thing ar two.
there are a few girls at my college who feel that it's acceptable to bring their crumby guitars in to the student centre on their breaks and strum A minor as fast as they can.i'm not being derrogatory in anyway just because they are girls, some guys do the same thing.
its annoying because most of my friends,by coincidence only are really good at an instrument, so it annoys us when a bunch of emo kids walk in with guitars that look nice but have clearly been made with no regard to quality of any kind other than low,and then have a fast strumming competition and try and look really cool.
-
Mentor, dunno bout that, Missus may suddenly take to being unreasonable about guitars :o
-
lo that wouldn't be good
dam!! i read the price of the jackson you're selling about two days after i just bought a guitar off ebay, bugger!!
this kinda thing always happens, i try to be patient and wait for the right thing to come along and then i buy something, and a better deal comes along :(
i shall have to change that one day!!!
-
sorry bout that :(
Only decided two days ago to actually do it.

Well, these girls in the student thing might make it as opposed to us if they can sing and write great songs ... in a minor ...
And then they'll burn PRS Singlecuts on stage every night in front of zillions of raving teenagers, while we'll still be here in the forum discussing how to get cool sounds out of our 450EUR epiphones
-
^ lol
-
does sambo know what guitar you are planning on raising the money for yet dakine?
i don't know how long you are expecting to wait before you sell that jackson mate, but i think i'm gunna be selling two of my guitars
if i have the funds available and your jackson is still up, expect to be hearing from me :D

the thing is, a minor is the only chord they know, although having said that some one challenged them to learn G major last wednesday
