So today I've ordered a calibrated MiracleMan set, chrome, engraved with allen bolts...
I'm having them sent to Poland where a luthier at this moment is building me a custom guitar which I hope will turn out spectacular!!
I've never ordered a custom before, and there's gonna be a deep hole in the old bank account, but It's really exciting to see how it'll turn out!
So if someone's interested I'll put some pics up in about 8 weeks when it's finished?

TOTALLY INTERESTED.
Yes, BKPs are expensive here in the US, too. But so worth it!!!
-
I can give you a small hint of what it will look like:
ESP Horizon style body
Neck-thru
Jackson Soloist SLS headstock
Deep see-thru-blue color with black burst on body+headstock
5-piece neck
Backside clear laquered
white-black-white binding
Tuneomatic bridge
Chrome hardware
Ebony fretboard
Ebony pickuprings
One medium-sized wooden tribal inlay on fretboard
And of course the MM set
-
Sounds like a beauty!!
-
Can't wait to see the pics :D
-
Well, you can probably understand how I feel?
I've just pictured the guitar in my mind before I sent them the specs, it'll be nervwrecking opening the package...
Of course Horizon body and Jackson head wasn't very bold choice so I will probably be happy with the shape.
Let's just hope them polish guys can build guitars?
-
Sounds like a nice guitar. I had a custom guitar built for me about a year ago, so I know how it is to wait for these things. :) I hope it turns out to be as good as you imagine.
-
:D Definatley post pics please. Just remeber you won`t be going out after you get your custom build as you`ll have Godly tone & therefore won`t want to put your guitar down !! :P

OK, guys, there has been some delay in the building process, beecause of delayed hardware orders from USA and other stuff, but I thought I would show you a few pics they sent me of the neck...
The inlay is 3 different exotic woods, adn the binding is white-black-white.

+1, the inlay is different from most I've seen :D
-
That neck does look cool. I'll be interested to see how it all turns out in the end. :)
-
that looks totaly sweet!
-
Well, I want a guitar which stands out a bit so I went for this...
I don't think there are too many with the same inlay in the world...?
I chose the inlay but gave them free hands for the material to use. It turned out they used the woods acacia, badi and padouk.
When I got this pic my first reaction was: What the *#½, it looks like some kind of circus-colors...
But it has grown on me, and now I love it!
-
Would that be a Ran custom by any chance?
-
Sounds like a killer axe!

Nope, this is Rek Guitars...
I checked out maybe 10 different guitarbuilders in Poland. LIstened to polish guitarists opinions and sent specification to a bunch of them...
I chose Rek because they gave me really good answers and seemed very interested in making the guitar as good as possible. THey have suggested lots of alterations, some I have accepted, some not. THis inlay is actually their idea...
-
Sounds cool, we need pics when it arrives :)
-
Pics taken by themselves today, they apologize tha bad quality of pics.... Tomorrow they will have a professoinal photographer there to take more. They are putting it up in their showcase gallery as one of few guitars...
What do you think?

Verrrrry nice axe!!! :D
Exactly how i like 'em...
What other luthiers did you check out, if I may ask?
And what were the 'good' solutions Rek proposed?
(Just curious about polish guitars as I'm awaiting my Mayones Custom...) :D

Glad you like it!
So you ordered from Mayones? Yes, they're supposed to be very good but also more expensive than the other polish builders I've checked out.
I sent them a request on the Regius 6, which would cost 1860 Euro. Then I would have to order the Bareknuckles myself. I would also have to pay extra for custom inlays and a change of color. So I would have ended up around 2500 Euros I think...
Have you ordered one of their standard models, or is it pure custom by your specs?
The things they suggested, which I accepted, was the white-black-white binding, custom inlays, ebony pickup rings and the choice of wood....
List of luthiers I checked out:
www.ranguitars.com (Getting big! Well-reputed, long delivery time)
www.witkowskiguitars.com (Supposed to be one of Polands best)
www.rekguitars.com (Ordered from these guys, their answers and the interest they showed made me choose them.)
http://www.lootnick.com (well, look in their gallery, they can make guitars!)
http://www.martchguitars.u2.pl/ (Don't know)
http://www.pasguitars.com/ (Also supposed to be good, but they gave me a too expensive price on the shipping, but I'm sure I could have found another shipping company, cheaper than the one they had)
http://www.mayones.com/ (Big, and too expensive compared to the others)
http://nexus-guitars.com/ (Supposed to be one of the best in Poland too)
http://kaniaguitars.com/i2/1ang1.htm (Don't know)

Well, as far as I know they only do customized standard models, not total custom.
So I got me a Setius 7, which is a lot cheaper than the Regius. (I actually had no choice as they don't build the Regius for leftys). It will have a Crawler neck and a Nailbomb bridge and I can't wait to get it :)
But back to your guitar. As much as i look around for fancy looking guitars I always seem to go back to the more classy looking ones and the ESP Horizon body is a beauty. Also love your head and I'm a sucker for transparent blue with covered pickups....8)
In short: I would steal your guitar if I wasn't a lefty :D
Looking forward for some clips!
-
I've just been looking at some of those links, and Lootnick 'The sound of Innovation' seems to be mostly copies of Ibanez, Parker and various 80s pointy shapes. Exactly WHOSE Innovation is it the sound of?
-
They have now put some pics up on their homepage, as one of the few they've got there...
These pics are more in detail than the previous...
