Hello guys, been a long time bkp user, my first order was in 2006 (a ceramic warpig that i love to death) now moving on to my question...i am ordering a black dog for my B8, replacing an overly hot Dimarzio Dactivator..what are your thoughts on the black dog delivering the goods for a percussive, clear and organic pissed off sound, fat and creamy chugs? i am using an old Soldano head and an EVH. i have a VH2 on my les paul which sounds huge (so im aware that the hot PAFs can be great)...and maybe my favorite Tim creation with the ceramic nailbomb.
thanks in advance

I don't know much about Jacksons but I am looking into the same PU for my strat, I think kinda similar guitars in some broad sense. Forum commentors suggest Black Dog is for Les Pauls and the high end is too much for strat-type guitars. So Let the wise men speak again.... hopefully

thanks man for your input.we shall see...

For downtuned guitars the BD works well bec it stays tight. I don't know how bright the Jackson is by itsself, but the BD has quite an amount of treble, despite it's middy voicing. The advantage of a lowoutput PAF is non to little compression, so more dynamics.
