Title: Help with screw color on etched black Rebel Yells!
Post by: Exodus5 on January 31, 2017, 01:29:16 PM
I am putting together an order for a set of Rebel Yells.  I want them to look just like these:

Those are nickel screws, right?  Does anyone have an example of what the black etched covers look like with black screws or maybe gold to match the etching?

I don't quite get this. If you want them to look just like the ones in that picture, why don't you just order the same as those in the picture? If you're talking about also having 'Bare Knuckle Pickups' etched onto the cover, that also raises a couple of questions. It's not something I've ever been interested in because I objected to paying to have my pickups become an advertisement but I'd have to say that in the case of Rebel Yells, wouldn't the cover start to look a bit crowded and 'fussy' with all that additional etching on it? Can you even get the ray gun etching on a black cover? The picture I saw of 'Bare Knuckle Pickups' etched onto a cover was a plain black cover and the writing was gold but presumably that was because the metal under the black coating was gold. If you have gold writing, I'd go for gold screws but ONLY if the hardware on my guitar was gold. If the hardware was silver, I'd want either silver or black screws with silver writing.

I was only talking about having the "ray gun" etch and trying to determine which screw color wold work best with those.  I went ahead with the nickel screws after verifying with BKP that this IS the color in the picture.
