So I was finally able to have my Abraxas set installed into the Monson Nomad, and I daresay...these pickups are THE SHIZNIT. They are remarkably touch-sensitive in a way that makes them SOUND as if they are un-potted, only without the wanton noise. There is also a wonderful amount of chime to be heard on the bridge position; I have found myself playing clean on the bridge pickup quite a bit, which is something I ordinarily reserve for the neck exclusively...
With distortion, they are clear, warm, and three-dimensional, and they remain tight. Surprisingly, they can thrash and chug with the best of them.
I am still in the honeymoon phase, admittedly, but I think this guitar has finally found a pickup set that fits. Mawwiage!

Great to see more love for the Abraxas after so many years as the unsung hero of the range. If I were to buy another BKP, it would be the Abraxas. I'm sure I'd like it as a couple of years ago I had a pickup made for me that is essentially an Abraxas but with an AV magnet and it's so incredible I just took delivery of another one. The Abraxas is a lot more versatile than I think people expect from the name. Great purchase and I'm sure it will be a long love affair you have with the Abraxas.

Just got an Abraxas set for my Les Paul Standard. Installing them soon.
The YouTube clips of the Abraxas neck especially convinced me.

An Abraxas with an AV, eh? That sounds intriguing. May I ask who wound it for you? Feel free to PM it to me if it is too tacky to advertise on here. No worries if you would rather keep it close to the chest, either!

It sounds mean and big, with a decidedly vintage flavor. To me, it actually sounds like a tamer version of the Nailbomb bridge, only with added smoothness and harmonic overtones.
Anyway, I figured I would share my findings!
