Title: Waiting Time for Pickups
Post by: downrodeo on April 07, 2006, 06:29:25 PM
So, this has probably been asked before, but how long does it usually take for the pickups to be made and delivered? (I know it probably varies depending on location, but I thought I'd ask)

I'm in the US, and I got it in about a week.  So pretty quick!

We'll always do our best although we'll never rush at the expense of the p/ups.I normally say to allow 10 days for US to be on the safe side, occasionally it can be longer if I have to order a pickguard in for example.

All the one's I've got in the past arrived when Tim said they would.

They say a week's a long time in politics, but they haven't waited a week for a set of phenomenal pickups.

(Tim, the invoice is in the post! ;) )

If there's a delay it's probably customs, no one more concerned about you getting your package than them

...I'm hoping on getting mine into my guitar in a week...Man is it going to be a tough 7 days...I hope the tech actually is responsible putting them in on time. Stick it to the man (customs) is what I say. Now I get to wait for someone to quote TOOL.

I remember the first set of BKP's i orderd and i was like, oh man no way these things have to be hand made he best have some stock piled and nope i had to wait. lol, worth the wait and i think it was 5 days or something like that absolutly amazing turn around time really, since i've spent over 400 quid with Tim in the past 6 months doesnt that say it all? :)

That is amazing. I don't know how Tim does it...I'll probably have to wait a little longer seeing as I live in the U.S. though :( BUT I'll have killer tone when the wait is OVER! 8)

Regular US Postal Service does the deliveries, but you need to be there to sign for the Royal Post package.

Mine arrived today and are at the shop awaiting (correct) installation. :D

The luthier was quite excited to install them and promised that he would be sure to get the guitar back to me within a couple of days--or so--after he finished.  :P

Ha.

I also gave him a Bare Knuckles shirt, as the price he was charging was less than I expected, and he was really, truly giddy at getting to install and give them a go!

Hope your package of wonders arrives soon.

The BKP community actually seems to be kind of small compared to big name brands. Perhaps the reason why Tim doesn't take so long to master craft your pickups the sales are probably smaller than SD's or EMG. Not many big name artists are buying dozens of BKP's for their 30 guitars.

I hope it stays like this.

No, just custom camo covers (which may be the reason...distressing them probably puts an extra day on the wait). I'm pretty sure there's nothing very unusual that had to be done to them. I can't wait to see them but the wait is killing me. Oh well.
