I do tech stuff for a mate in a metalcore band, he plays a PRS SE model I think, in drop b tuning. It has P90's in it but I think its a little weak for the sound they want, he's the rhythm guitarist.
Anyone got any suggestions if a BKP P90 would be better or should we just go with a humbucker? I don't know the P90 range very well, I think I heard him say if he was to get a BKP it'd be a Juggernaut. If we go for a humbucker we'd have to cut a new space to fit it in the pickup slot.

For a metalcore band the best P-90 would be a Stockholm, easily. I have one in an SG Junior and it gives a lot of bottom end chunk and plenty of mids.
If he is not using the neck pickup I would just leave that as is, but if he wants a new one the Supermassive neck is often a good choice to go with a Stockholm bridge, or he could get a Stockholm set.

Thanks for the reply, what if he opted for a humbucker even if it meant making a new space for the pickup?
He tends to use the bridge pickup the most so I would say only one but I will note what you say about pairing it up with a Supermassive. More cleans are coming into their live set.
Most of his playing is power chords with a 9 in there and single note riffs. Doesn't bend strings much but does a lot of melodic lines on the thin strings too.

Well I guess a Juggernaut could be okay, I just don't have any personal experience with them.
I found the Stockholm to do a better job than a Nailbomb in my old d-beat crust punk band. That was pretty much all power chords, although I did quite a few single note palm mutes with it for specific songs and I've played other stuff on it at home. The bridge on my SG Junior is a Graph Tech ResoMax NW-2, a wraptail.
I don't have any good videos of it but forum member Jon has done some review videos of the HSP90 version in a Strat and a Jazzmaster.

This is the alnico Nailbomb in the same guitar:

I did actually use my Stockholm on a demo, here's a link to one track (the other guitarist had an SD Quarter Pound in a Telecaster):

And a video of me playing it in the radio studio (sorry this is recorded with a camera):
