Hi, maybe funny and weird topic, but there`s a little thing that puzzles me a lot.
Guitar strap length in relation to different types of guitars
Did anyone experience that certain models of guitars are more comfortable to play strapped on a bit higher and other a bit lower?
I noticed that I find LP style heavy Dean Cadillac which has thick gibson style neck a bit lower to feel comfortable with and my superstrat type guitar with thin Ibanez type neck a bit higher.
Would that make any sense? I have rather small hands and prefer thinner necks in general.
Does anyone find that too?

Strapping them higher is more comfortable if you have a gut!

Yes, indeed.
But I find it strange that different heights are equally comfortable in relation to neck thickness. Was thinking about it the other day and thought that might ask other people if they find that as well sometimes.

yes, I absolutely find this too!

I typically use the leather Les Paul style straps where you have to loop the tail end through a slot, and I use strap locks, so they are nigh impossible to change after the fact. So for me, one size fits all regardless.

I have different lengths for single cut types and double cut types, as the nature of the guitar is that the strap button on a strat is higher up, so the neck is further away. Ergo, shorter strap for strats, longer strap for Les Paul and Tele. The end result is that the neck is at roughly the same height

Exactly, I never thought about the strap button. It explains everything. Good point

Neck angle?
