Hey guys,
the final song for our demo has been finished and is now on our myspace.
http://www.myspace.com/thesafetyfire . The song is called The Hold, and would really appreciated some comments on the mix and the song itself. This is i suppose the "ballad" of the demo ( i use that term loosely ).
This song has around 20-25 tracks and was running short on CPU power ( comp was crashing every 30 secs...). So rather then doing what i usually do of having plugins on each track seperately i used buss's for my vocal reverbs delay, and drum reverbs. Was quite interesting, but really cant wait for my new recording setup.
Thanks in advance.
I apologise for the myspace quality. Here is a ysi link (http://s52.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=24T1XSNDWHB7V368MP7FK92YAU) but im guessing it wont be there for long.

Not many tracks by today's standards. I won't even go into how many tracks were used on each song on my last CD!!!

haha lol yer i spose... but compared to my pathetic attempt at recording my band using one track per player its a huge amount

Some of the best recordings have been made with one or two tracks only. What matters is the final product!
Okay, sorry ... back on topic!!

yer but not by someone with my recording skills!!! (or lack of em as you may say)
anyway yes, back on topic

Yeah, it really isnt a significant number of tracks really, just for my CPU power!! If we were micing guitars, we would of had a ridiculous amount of tracks. I remember seeing an interview with The Darkness on the new album and they said they user around 100-200 tracks on each song!
Cheers for the comments guys, much appreciated. To answer your question kemra i've been playing guitar for 3 years, and been playing with the band as many. We all started roughly at the same time and have been progressing together.
Cheers guys!

Now this is NICE !!!!
I can even hear some Mike Oldfield in there, and I adore his work, although he isn't so much rated a great guitarist in general ... I LOVE IT!
Wanna see you play live, do you have a concert schedule?
-
Sounds really good Derya!
You have only been playing 3 years :!: I'm pulling my t shirt over my head in shame lol! I've been at for 25 this year, I'm sooo lame!

DERYA!!! HOW DARE YOU  Never has anyone ever called me Derya on a forum.... Saying that i feel like i know you slightly better now :P
Glad you liked the track, and guitar is all about enjoying yourself and from the sound of your clips and the love of your Koch ( still would like to try one out ) im sure you are!
Cheers Hunter, glad you liked it so much. We are planning on doing lots of gigs from May onwards ( hopefully have a festival lined up in Turkey, which is gonna be a huge gig, and also a free gig for punters! I think people in the band are going to be looking at me to say something, ill be as useless as them! ). Also hopefully a summer tour.
Thanks again guys.
