Title: NGD PRS S2 Singlecut

Just ordered one of these. Anderton's are knocking them out at around half price because the metallic colours didn't sell well. I rather like it  - it'll contrast nicely with the red Stingray my bass player has just bought. I've been playing a Bernie with Abraxas pups for the last two years and it's a killer guitar. I'm hoping the S2 may be a little better.

The pups are Korean made but a lot of guys seem to think they're really good - they sound good in the demos I've listened to. If I don't like them I'll probably do a transplant with the Rebel Yells that are currently sitting in my Firebird.

Guitar arrives on Monday - oh, the agony of waiting !

A new guitar - that's the kinda thing that'll cheer up a Monday!

Given that metallic finishes don't grab me, that's a damn fine looking guitar... (years back I was so disappointed to discover the otherwise FABULOUS Sherwood Green was a sparkly finish!)

Also, I'm getting into these wrap-around bridges, they really do seem to give a different vibe. I didn't believe it before I'd tried it - now I've got three of them.

Hope you have a good Monday :)

Congrats man. Colour is maybe not for everybody, but I quite like it. I guess the S2 is good value for money, certainly with a discount.

Guitar arrived today and it is fantastic. I was already thinking of replacement pickups but the No 7 Korean made pickups are really good. They sound very close to the Abraxas set in my Bernie. I kept swapping between the Bernie and the S2 playing through my Yamaha THR100 and they are very close in sound - not sure I could tell which was which in a blind listening test. This is exactly what I wanted for gigging - two almost identical guitars.

The build quality is out of this world - absolutely flawless. There's something a little classier about it than the Bernie. For £799 this is a steal. The metallic finish looks great in the flesh. Glad I convinced myself not to go for a Gibson.

Congrats! PRS guitars are well built. I got myself an SE CU 24 and it is an amazing guitar. I think I will keep the original pickups in this one. The bridge pick up sounds a bit thin for some applications but I am sure I'll be able to sort this out with a pedal. I really like the sound of the neck and neck + bridge; cleans out very nicely with the volume control.
