Oh god... its so tacky... I must buy one asap.

LOL

-
^awesome, that'll match my pink pointy ibanez rg with multicoloured pickups and my glow-in-the-dark engl nicely.
I'm not kidding (apart from the getting the lead bit).
-
Dave, it is BLUE light though
-
^maybe it'll cure my blue engl GAS, nick...
doubt it.
-
Ohhhhhhhhh Blue Engl and Blue Cable, yummy yum yum
BTW, when's the Invader slated to be out Dave? As in "for sale" :)
-
^i heard summer, but that could change- also, i think only the 150 watter will be out at the start, if it sells well, then they might bring out the 100 and 50 watters...
-
ahh, so really aimed at "pro" first (i.e. 150W, OWWWWWWWWWW).
Unless it bombs (which I highly doubt) am sure will/should come out with smaller wattage ones.
Still like the layout of the Special Edt. though.
-
OH MY GOD!!!!!
i really really want one!!!
im not actually joking i really do...
price???? UK dealer????
THATS SO COOL!!!!
-
OMG
I know Sambo too well, is there a cure? ROFLMAO
-
yer its probably the juice extracted from the dung of some mystical creature which lives on an inaccessible island in the middle of the ocean which can only be seen for 10 minutes every century.... or something like that

i thought it would be like £30 max.... ah well.... i have no time for expensive gadgets... sheesh, i mean... who wants an expensive gadget anyways... gadgets are all about bargains... bargains and pointlessness

Sams gong for the UK remake "Brokeback Hillock" ;)
Rob... (runs back into hiding)
-
grrrrrrrr im sure if i knew what hillock meant id be really pissed off!!!!!! :x
EDIT: ok, so i googled hillock: :?
"The displacement of a thin-film material that occurs when heated and cooled. Hillocks of aluminum are sometimes found in the aluminum interconnect metal on semiconductor devices."
what are you getting at here rob?
the epic journey of a boy over a large piece of discrepancy-frequented aluminum?
-
Noun
S: (n) knoll, mound, hillock, hummock, hammock (a small natural hill)
Rhymes with pollock :)
Though I thought hammock was a sort of bed that prevented sailors acting like the stars of Brokeback Mountain.
Rob...
-
i see... also rhymes with pillock as well... :? :o
and yes a hammock is a bed isnt it???!!! where on earth do you get your definitions from...?!?!!!!
-

got to google and anter "define: hammock"
You also get this definination for hammock "An area where the ground level is raised above the level of the water."
In my days that was called either land or above water.
I wonder what the word to go along with this definition would be "An area where the water level is raised above the level of the ground."
Rob...
-
i dunno... its past midnight... i cant be bothered to get into the complexity of words and meanings....
but wait a sec... isnt it impossible for water level to be above the ground level? because then the water would be in mid-air????
-
good god ppl.
was funny but then................. oh well.
And I guess Sambo don't know that the movie "BrokeBack Mountain" is about some gay (and I don't mean HAPPY) Cowboys.
Now what do ya make of Rob's statement? huh huh? LOL
-
I was just releieved that the conversation ended up with cr@ppy definitions.
I would so hate to have to explain the term gay.
but wait a sec... isnt it impossible for water level to be above the ground level? because then the water would be in mid-air????
The water would be on the ground, hence the terms, sea, ocean, river, lake or even puddle.
Rob...
-
omg Rob stoppit, have an allergy headache, truly don't need your witty "Samboisms" like that, oh heck, the mind boggles :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

Rob...
-
nick- please... never refer to me in that way ever again....
and rob... i dont get it- you said water above ground... but water can never be above ground cause it has to sit on something... i.e- THE GROUND!!!!!! ?????
-
but water can never be above ground cause it has to sit on something
Put in a glass.
-
but water can never be above ground cause it has to sit on something... i.e- THE GROUND!!!!!! ?????
What does a puddle sit on ?
-
the ground.....
but yes marks right... you could have water above ground if it was suspended in something... i.e a glass.... but then the glass has to be standing on something, which in turn has to be standing on something else.... e.tc e.t.c. and it all leads back to the ground
-

Put it in a glass in a plane?
This is getting silly. :)
-
suspend it from the ceiling or a nearby tree.
-
but beatle the tree is in turn connected to the ground.... although i spose the water could still be described as above ground....
i think marks plane idea is the best option...
although what is the definition of 'ground'? because up in the air in a plane, the floor could be describde as the 'ground'..... ?
theres gotta be a link here between this and the grounding in guitar electronics but i just cant think of it...
-
Ignoring the semantics, it's a cool cable. I want one.
-
^yer see!!!! they really are cool!!!!! i mean, if TO says theyre cool then they have to be, so NER NER NE NER NER!!!!
-
Yeah, kinda different TO, however, bit costly.
Sambo, maybe a clear piece of plastic hose, normal cable (with an intentional "short") and some firefly's. Put the cable in the hose, fill with firefly's, then when ya play the short shocks the flys and they glow
Oh, and as for the ground/water FARCE.
What about a THUNDER CLOUD. Which is therefore FULL of precipitation (i.e. water) and FLOATS in the air! PHOOEY! :P
-
Only here can a gizmo lighted guitar cable morph into a discussion on water at ground level. Jeez!
-
I was going to suggest filling a clear plastic tube with Gin & tonic then you could get a friend to flash a UV lamp at it in time with your playing.
Once you get bored with that you can drink it :)
Rob...
-
HHAHAAA great description for the home-made cable LOL!
and as for thunder clouds.. well thats just cheating!!!! sure theres precipitation (water VAPOUR) but its not like 'water' water.....
-
Hell
just let Sambo stand in his "above ground water" puddle on the floor, short the cable and see a light and dance show every time he plays a chord
just kiddin', I think :D
-
it's NOT bloody cheating, jeesh, u r just a sore loser :P
-
:x
-
now I want to see a video of you standing in water and playing with a shorted cord for your forfeit
-
:o
ok your on!!! it shall be done...
just so i know though... what are the heath risks of such a task?
-
permanent PERM ROFLMAO
-
well that may not be such a bad thing.... 8) im sure i could get away with a big blonde afro...
-
Beavis and Butthead ride again LOL!
-
  :D
-
Pull my finger, ha ha heh ha
-
  *yoink*....
-
<--- flies round room like punctured baloon :)
-
.....
....
:o
wasnt expecting that one....
-
:o
ok your on!!! it shall be done...

On a serious (adult/grown up) note. Knew a guy who got electricuted through a mike stand. So was all JEST!
"WARNING"
Do NOT attempt this at home boys and girls. Urinating your own underwear is the BEST result that could ensue from such misadventure, so be SAFE out there!

Only because I am still a huge fan of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (otherwise known as SHAB), and he was Alexs brother.
Give these a try http://www.youtube.com/results?search=alex+harvey&search_type=search_videos
Their version of Deliah still causes me to laugh watch Zal the guitarist and the bass player (who went on to play with Rory Gallagher) being slightly silly in the background.
They where the band that AC DC wanted to emulate.

They did once tour billed as "The Sensational Alex Harvey Band without Alex"
-
HAHA!!! sound like a pretty funny band...
-
Not only funny but great band too (the song Next is so intense it's scary).
Zal Clemnson (spelling ?) has a great guitar sound, but the song lyrics are totally mad sometimes.
give the other songs a try.
Rob...
-
what the hell!>!!?!?!?! just watched the deliliah video.... whats going on ?!?!?!?!?!?!? bassist and guitarist doing weird dance STUFF!?!!
lol...
dont see the AC/DC connection (yet) although the guitar guy is using a cherry red SG...
-
ok the 'next' song is simply hilarious...
lyrics are straaaaange but sooo funny..
is the guy scottish? i had no idea- couldnt really tell from the deliliah song
-
The Next song reminds me of Jim Morrison's poetry+music ramblings. Not my thing.
-
Yeah they where / are Scottish.
Their stage act was very theatrical (search the web for descriptions).
Apparently AC DC idolised SAHB, and when ACDCs first TV appearence was when SAHB had to cancel an appearence on the Marc Bolan show (Alex fell into the orchestra pit a few days before).
They where a great rock band, and Zal later went on to join Nazareth.
Funny thing is I missed them the other week when they where playing in London (obviously without Alex as he is also dead)
Rob...
-
i see..
he joined nazareth eh?! thats cool...
so alex is the one who died because of the electric shock thing?
-

Alex had a heart attack in about 82, his brother was was the one who got electrocuted.
Rob...
-
oh i see silly me...
what an unfortunate family!...
-
SAHB- great band - saw them play loads of times. That SAHB without Alex album was great too. Chris Glenn was the bassist I seem to recall and Hugh McKenna on keyboards- I think Hugh's brother played drums. Alex was very Scottish and Zal did indeed go on to join Nazareth. Are we showing our age here Rob or what?

Sort of, I never managed to see them as they had already split by the time I discovered music. although most of their albums where brilliant, they where one of those bands who seem to have been even better live.
I'm just after watching the verision of Give My Compliments on youtube and for the first time noticed the bass playing, not only is there space for everybody else to perform, some of the bass lines are not exactly obvious, jeez I love that.
I think I will have to see them when they play London.
