Hey,
does anyone have any experience with any of those? I used to have aftermath but sold it when I had more pickups than guitars. It was really tight and dry. I had it in a LP as opposed to a super strat I'd put this pickup into.
I'm using a HD atm, but I'm looking for something with ceramic magnet and even more aggression for lower tunings. Not that HD can't handle drop B cause it can, but it doesn't have that ceramic pick attack.
Thanks.

From what i understand, the aftermath and painkiller are very similar, with the painkiller have more accentuated high mids. If u didnt even like the aftermath in lp, i think youll despise it in a super strat. i used to have a dimarzio titan, which is supposed to be based on the aftermath with some of the annoying highs taken off. i found the lows/low mids to be really weird, it just sounded wrong. I replaced it with a juggernaut, which i basically recommend for everyone. Id look into the impulse, the guy from architects uses them mainly and they play 6 strings with a low f. Or look into the juggernaut, its very similar to fluffs signature pickup and he usually plays down in drop b

It's not that I didn't like aftermath, it just wasn't the go to choice for that LP at the time.
Impulse doesn't have that ceramic cut I'm looking for, and as for juggs, they are too muddy in the low mids for my taste.

I'll throw the cold sweat into the mix for good measure lol. Between the amath and pk, id say probably aftermath. The aftermath-based titan had way too much in the mids, and seeing how everyone says the pk is middier than the amath...well thats just scary.

the Painkiller does have alot of attack.
I prefer the Aftermath myself, its dry, modern and pokey in the mids.
