This short clip was recorded using a Strat loaded with VH2 in the neck and MiracleMan in the bridge, into an ENGL Screamer 50.
The rhythm track is double tracked, close mic'd and doubled over with a mic behind my head so to capture what i was hearing kinda I guess?
then the lead was close mic'd using the microphone at a 90degree angle to the cab so it was sideways on not direct at it, also some digital reverb added at mix down to the lead to give it some shimmer.
I likey this one.

that was very nice tone, and playing, Healey. I will have to try the mic behind the head trick. It makes sense. Was the solo done on the VHII neck? The rythym was so tight and crunchy. Keep it up!

Sounded cool- very big sound.

think the solo uses a bit of both pickups, i change a lot mid solo when i play to get the right tone for the kind of timbre i want from the instrument during that section, nothing worse than someone that does all there soloing on the bridge or neck exclusively, unless ur van halen pre peavey/musicman.
