Any recommendations? i'm looking for big fat tone for my les paul. That ZZ Top - Rhythmeen sound. and i like to use lot of pinch harmonics.
I have emg 81/85 p/u now, but they are little too much of a heavymetal pickups for me.
they should not be muddy, and should have screaming mids.
don't know if i'm making anysense.. but anyway thanks for answers!
ps: excuse my bad english..

Rebel Yell seems like it might be what your after although I've never played them..

The classic 'ZZ' tone is from Pearly Gates so you're looking for a PAF basically. One of the 'vintage-hot' pickups Tim sells should sort you out.

Black dogs?

I'm thinking Rebel Yell too. I think you could get some twang out of them.

Mules.

I'm gonna butt right in and say Mississipi Queens.
Rhythmeen was done mostly on a 50s LP with soapbars, so they'd be your logical choice. He uses Pearly more than most, but THAT album was a soapbar loaded 52 modded with a tunomatic.
He ran it into a 2X10 Marshall, and a lot of the thick tone came from the fact there was a slight delay because he recorded straight into the desk AND into a mic with the amp. And he likes his fuzz boxes too.
