Hi folks !
I received my new old Maton DC1500 a few weeks ago. It's a very nice 60's fully hollow' thinline (Casino style), solid pruce top, super comfy neck.
The electronic is in bad state, I plan to redo it all and btw change the pickups when my wallet will agree. The stocks pickups are singles coils well adapted to a 60's clean Beatle-ish tone, good cleans but very weak and unprecise when I drive it.
The point is I play mostly jazzy blues / blues rock / alternative ; I like woody cleans, but also biting and growling drived tone and fat Fuzzes to a Reignwolf level.
That's why I was thinking about a pair of P90 to suit my axe, maybe Mississipi Queen or Supermassive (a bit too powerfull?).
Anyway if you girls and guys had any experience to share with me, that would be great !
Thanks

Nantuckets!

Will it need to be routed and have new mountings installed?

Yup, actually the pickups are approximately the size of mini-humbuckers ; that's why I first wanted to put a set of Firebirds mini-hum (vintage style, not today's ceramic-things) but I'm still not certain I'd like it.
I already have a The Loar LH309 loaded with a Nantucket in the neck and I love it, but I dig the Mississipi Queen because it has my curiosity : seems like a less raw tone ?
Maybe mix a Nantucket bridge and a MQ neck ?

Well if you have it routed for soapbar P-90s then both P-90 soapbars and mini-humbuckers are options
I quite like the Nantucket / Blue Note combo.
