Title: BKP Pickups similar to Suhr SSH or DSH
Post by: joe.bloggs on August 09, 2018, 05:19:22 PM
Hi, I hope someone here can help me.

I am looking for a bridge humbucker that is very similar to a Suhr SSH or DSH. It is going into an ash Stratocaster/rosewood fretboard with Irish Tours for neck and middle.

It should be very similar in output and EQ to the Suhrs. I do not like overly bright, compressed, thick or flabby/loose pickups.

As far as I know the Suhrs have Alnico V magnets and 12,8K DC. I do not know the wire gauge that they use. That would also be interesting for me.

I like an open quality to a pickup and it should not mush or be  overly bright but should be medium hot @ around 13K DC.

I would welcome answers from people who actually have had some experience with the SUHR SSH or DSH (not SSH+ or DSH+ or Aldrich).

Thanks in advance.

I would look at the Abraxas too, which sit nicely between the open sounding Mule and the more compressed thick Crawler.
Emeralds can be bright in the wrong guitar. So what is your guitar? A Suhr?
