Title: Metal pickup

Hi, this is my first post so here goes. Im getting a new guitar soon, a Jackson RX10D, and i was wondering what pickups do i stick in? I play alot of metal, death metal and stuff like that so alot of distortion. Any recomendations?

Miracle Man, Nail Bomb or Warpig. One of those should suffice I think  :D

Definitaley the Warpig. I play death metal mostly too and it suits me perfectly. Never heard a pickup sound so beefy and crushing. Surprisingly versatile too.

Either the Miracle Man or the Warpig. The Miracle Man has more top end sizzle and a tighter bottom end. The warpig has a fuller midrange grunt and more bottom end.

Much as I love the miracle man, its not the weapon of choice for death metal. Too much highs, too smooth, maybe not enough gain, depending on your amp.

MDV, how do you think it will work with a 5150?

Well, to my ears the 5150 has a ton of gain, and a smooth, dry, bassy sound.

The MM would probably sharpen up the highs, liven it up a little, the bass of each would work very well together, and gain certainly wouldnt be a problem!

I think it would be a good combo. Something I imagine one might not like about a 5150/MM combo would be the mids: niether has a lot, so it would be naturally very scooped.

The sound I have in my head from trying to imagine it is leaning toward a brighter version of the black album. Thats a characature, but you know what I mean!

Which clip, mate?

well... i guess the 5150 has tons of mids.
and highs, and a tight bass.. but not a good ammount of bass.
crunchy mids, and sweet high
and a DRY overal SOUND

Maybe I'm just used to marshalls and engls? I find peaveys sccoped.

from what i got, EDDIE VAN HALLEN uses/used Scooped middles Paf pickups, and relied the Scooped middles on the design of his new amp.
Full of middLes and treble. but , voiced  this way . Middles CRUNCHY, to play hardrock, AND Sweet, and pretty Proeminent Highs. to help soloing work become a sweet task. Q:p
And the bass, ahahah i can´t explain .. but, it´s Tight as hell

5150 and mids?????? I used to have one and although it kicked ass, mids were non existant.
