Title: MQ / BD ???
Post by: CaffeineJunkie on April 19, 2006, 08:33:57 PM: Am about to get some new pickups for my Les Paul and i was thinking of a Black Dog in the Bridge and a Mississippi Queen in the Neck.

I just wondered if anybody had used a combination like this and how it sounded.

A hell of a lot lighter than the Les Paul for starters.
Apart from that it's amazing, cept for the usual problem with the controls crackling, but you get that on all SEs when you first buy them anyway.

Headstock is still the best looking in the world too :D

Just about anything really, atm a lot of Led Zep - hence the Black Dog - but i also play some Slash stuff, Muse, Santana, The Who, Eagles, Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix and the like. (So basically everything)

Post by: Elliot on April 20, 2006, 09:06:13 AM: I have a MQ neck Mule bridge and it is an awesome combo - the MQ doesn't have problems with the Mule's output. A BD/MQ would really give you a great tonal range.

I was after one of those colour ones aswell before I got my LP Custom.. Never got to see one in person though.
