Title: Miracle Man (Heaviest Clip Yet)
Post by: JamesHealey on April 21, 2006, 12:59:32 PM
I've spent a good hour or so on this track purely just to get the rhythm guitars to sound like absolute monsters from hell.

Basically theres 2 rhythm guitars one close mic'd at an 45 degree angle to get this big warm fluffy grunt which is panned 65% left.
The 2nd rhythm guitar is then panned 65% right and thats mic'd further back with a bit more room in the sound really crisp and harsh still though but with a bit of Air.

then I took a copy of the 1st rhythm guitar panned it totally centre and slapped a 30 band EQ on it to give it a bit more bottom end a less mids really fattend the tone up something chronic.

Lead guitars are recorded dry with a 4 voice chorus added to them at the mix down just to make it sound that bit more "zakky".

Awesome tone. A true kick in the chest tone.

Not sure if it's the heaviest (remembering Drac's clips).

fookin heavy stuff.... you succeeded in making the rhythm guitars monsters from hell! whats your setup/what did you use- guitars-amps?

could bring up the lead guitar a bit... but excellent stuff

I quite liked the distant lead tone, didnt want it too over powering I wanted people to pay more attention to the uber heavy rhythm lol.

Nicely done, mate! The problem? It wasn't long enough! U could make a decent song out of that! If u'd had drum an bass behind it kicking in when the lead started, that would of perfected it! All that aside, it was a good clip mate, yer tone is brutal!
