Title: Suggestions for Fender Jazzmaster Blacktop HS
Post by: shed_33 on April 17, 2019, 05:04:19 PM
I plan on replacing the stock bridge pickup in my Fender Jazzmaster Blacktop HS. (The ones that have the humbucker in the bridge and P90 in the neck)

I play post-rock/metal with a lot of heavy balls to the wall distortion to really clean and chimey passages to droney ambient stuff. (ISIS, Neurosis, Lantlos, Cult of Luna, etc. etc.)

I'm also playing through a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier into a Mesa 4x12.
So I've got plenty of power and distortion in my setup. Just need something  more ballet and with more of a unique voicing than the stock bridge pickup.
I also should mention that I play a les paul with a CBomb in the bridge and while I love the pickup in my Les Paul, I dont necessarily want to have two different guitars with the same pickup. They are two different sounding guitars all together anyway.

Anyone have any suggestions for a bridge pickup?

I have 2 guitars both with sets of Nailbombs Alnico, and the sound differences are obvious (one is a walnut body w/aluminiun neck, the other korina w/ mahogany neck).

Maybe you may go for a A-Bomb?

Btw write to BKP, they are always open to give hints and suggestions.

I know I’m over a month late here, but I would be curious in this as well. OP did you end up getting anything? I’m looking to pick up a Rectifier and play similar stuff to you.
