Hello,
what is the good way to intall a warpig (neck position) in a guitar? cause there are two rows of screws, I cannot differenciate the "north" side of the "south" side.
-
try both, use the one that sounds better
-
that's not a bad answer :), but it's not very easy to fit a pickup in a SG, and as I want to split it, it will be helpfull if I know which side is split.
-
Perhaps you can bring the neck pickup close the the bridge pickup so that they're side by side. If they push away then the magnets are the same polarity. I'm not sure how this will help you, but it gives you something to do until someone comes along who knows about this stuff.

Try a boyscout type compass and see which side is north
Alternatively the wire should emerge from the top left hand corner if it is in the right way (I know It's the most awkward positrion but it's traditional)
-
If I remember correctly, you can do it this way. On the back of the pickup Bare Knuckle Pickups is engraved. Now lets pretend your SG was see-through. If you turn your guitar around and look at the back you should be able to read Bare Knuckle Pickups perfectly. Not upside down......lol.....
Hope this make sense...chris

thing shag101 has the best idea there.

top left?
how's that possible? if you look at it from the front its only bottom left or top right..
care to explain a bit, cos i got no clue what you're talking about =/
i always orientated it according to the engraving too

I think Jonathan is talking long side as the top and you are looking at short side! Or it could be that he is talking about imagining you can see through the pickup, but you ar elooking at the bottom.

Correct sir - you need x-ray vision (I have it fitted as standard - very handy in Ladies clothes shops)
So imagine you can see through the pickup and the cable should exit on the top left hand corner - viewing the guitar in the upright position
