Long time since i've posted on here but thought i'd start lurking again and hope this will be helpful.
As per a previous post i've experimented a lot with BKP's in my trusty les paul custom https://forum.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/index.php?topic=34527
and also EMGs, Duncan Blackouts, Di Marzios etc etc.
It's fair to say I was 1) On a full on quest for tone 2) Had way too much time on my hands 3) No sane person should do all this but whatever!
Long story short i've settled on a set of Rebel Yells for years now and they're simply perfect and felt compelled to add to what i've previously said. They can pull in every direction all the other pickups did and don't lack in any respect.
As expected they have a Steve Stevens vibe but anyone looking for Cantrell, Adam Jones or even Alex Skolnick tones should look here.
A very, very tight but not surgically tight bottom end. Super tight but never sounding too processed.
In a Les Paul the complex mid range is enhanced. The low mids are there but there's an added cut and presence. The added cut and presence is huge but somehow its never harsh like a ceramic pickup and sounds ever so slightly rounded off which obviously suits the nature of a Les Paul.
To me anyone playing mid to high gain rock and metal should really consider the Rebel Yells the safe option in a Les Paul.
I could go on but to me it really is as simple as that.
The cleans are excellent too. Would something in the low output range sound better....perhaps or perhaps not but we're getting into differences only full on guitar snobs could notice at that point!

Congrats man. When it works for you, it's fine, I guess.

My Rebels are in a PRS S2 Singlecut. They sound incredible.
