Ok so how many of u here have attempted (whether successfully or not!) swinging the guitar over ur shoulder and back round ur body? lol, i really wanna try it out with my old £90 practice strat, but i havent got the guts to! Is it as easy as it looks ? :P

LOL!
I haven't tried that for years! I think I did it without problems. What I was always bad at was the windmill. Man, it's tricky.

Yes, but you may want to invest in straplocks first!!
-
Straplocks are your friend. Just don't hit a wall XD I do it all the time, it's pretty badass. I slam the strings open and spin it around my body and fiddle with my effects, letting everything feedback and shite.

Can't beat a bit of Pete Towndend, I almost anihilated my light shade doing that. I've never had the guyts to swing an axe over my shoulder though...

At a Doro gig once, the bass player did this thing where he pulled his right arm back through the strap and rotated his whole body with the bass hanging down stationary from his neck, then stuck his arm back through and continuing playing (didn't miss a note).
Never tried swinging a guitar round myself as I'm a clumsy bar-steward and would probably end up skewering the drummer or something.

lol! dont worry. strap locks are sorted, i like holding my guitars at awkward angles and stuff anyway :P
So its really that easy?
I mean, im talking like alexi laiho style here :P not like the hives or anything lol. just, every time i seen it i could imagine 101 ways it could go wrong  .e.g..
Headtsock hits straight into floor
Guitar hits spine
Guitar has too much momentum and pulls me onto my arse...
lol ah screw it im just gonna have a 6 pack of carlsberg one day and go mental in my garden trying it lol.

P.S. Im not a bodom fanboi ..... much...

back in the good old eighties, Cinderella used to swing their axes all the time! the videos from their first album are full of it ( guitar swinging that is...) :P
-
I never tried it because the first time i saw it happen was in a Static-X video on Kerrang... put me off the idea. also i don't play outside very often...

Yngwie is doing it on the G3 dvd.

Ah, the Yngwie combo. Swing guitar, hit chord followed my immediate drop-kick of plectrum into audience.

Hehe, found a video on the web where the same bass player does it in a video:
Warlock - All We Are (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grURYe_X0j0&search=warlock%20doro%20all%20we%20are)
