Sooo ... Phil King lost the challenge! I got got a Les Paul clone before he got a Floyd-equipped guitar. (He, however, will probably have 3 Felines before I can even get one)

Looks nice, and a nice price as well. Make sure you give us feedback on it, and let us know what customs hit you for. They've got some nice looking models, I might think about getting one the next time I'm in the states.
-
I'm in the US, so no customs charge!
-
I think a pair of Black Dogs would go great in that guitar mate ;)

HA!
I'm torn about the pups, at the moment, but BDs are one of the choices I have in mind.
-
Ohh, nice top on that thing. Show us pics you've taken of it when you get it. Agiles are pretty highly rated by people looking for a Gibbo without the expense; let us know what you think of it.

Looks like a bargain, nice flamed blue top.
Black dogs are great in my Edwards (I suppose they are voiced for the obvious tone, but they just sound "right" in a vintage style LP), I vote for them...
-
I'll make up my mind @ LGS.
-
Ben are you ok? I can see the grain of the wood on this guitar!
Nice looker! Are these a good make for L.P's without the price tag? I'm looking at loads of replica lp's but can't make up my mind. I am the lord procrastinator! :?
Edit
Wow what a good price for a solid mahogony guitar!
Warpigs!!

LOL!
Actually, it's not my cup of tea in the looks department, but it has the features I want. Figured tops are overrated! I'll take neon green any day!!
-
I just saw a jet black one. I like that blue one though!
I'm thinking this could be a good choice for piggys! I'll have to stop changing my mind all the time!
-
let us know what you think, ben- on a lot of the (other) forums I go to, opinion is split about 50/50 between fanboys and haters (and nothing in between, lol). Not being in the USA, I havent' got to try one...
And am I strange because I like both flamed and plain 80's type tops?
EDIT: oh, and are you going for it in blue? I like blue flamed guitars...
-
errrr- everyone's like "good price" but i don't see a price?! how much was she?
-
^they're normally around $300 if i remember correctly...
-
ohhhhh that is pretty damn good! Assuming it's actually any good *is skeptical*
Whats she made of? and where?
-
Ben, first P90's, now Les Pauls... I see a Tele coming in the near future...
-
^ ^ actually, if it's a 2800, it's probably closer to $200, indy... EDIT: ah, ok, i was closer the first time, it's $300...
they're korean, aren't they?
dunno, not too well up on agiles, lol. www.rondomusic.net
^ peter: haha, yeah- i tried a tele the other day, now i want one...
:(

I like a decent quilt top and a tasteless 80s style blue bengal or ghost flame finish too. I think it's good to be open minded ;)
As for cheap LP clones, the Dean Evo is pretty tasty, the PRS Tremonti is pretty well thought of (although you'll need to buy an adjustable bridge if you want to play in anything other than A440), if you like a classic style fat neck. The Washburn Idols are pretty good, and if you look around you can still find the WI65 model which was staggeringly good value for money (named US pickups and Buzz Feiten for around £300). Epiphones can be a bit variable, and when you compare the features to similarly priced guitars they are a little pricey, but if you find the right one it could be the start of something beautiful. At the really cheap end of the scale, I've played a Vintage before, and they're actually not bad (I've played guitars for twice that money that weren't really any better to play).
-
^ +1 on the WI65, i found one for £290 the other day, for the price it's excellent.
If only it didn't have 42mm nut width, grrr... (i prefer wider- 43mm)
-
Very nice guitar. I like the color and the maple cap. It's screaming for a set of Rebel Yells, I think.
-
Well, wonder of wonders .... not only did I find out this morning that the guitar shipped the same day I ordered it, but that it shipped FedEx, and was out for delivery TODAY.
It just arrived in my office. First impression is that it's VERY impressive!! Finish is good, parts are very good, inlay work is suprisingly nice. Acoustically, it sounds brighter than most LPs, probably due to the maple neck. The profile is very comfortable, and the neck finish is great. Frets are hand filed and look good. The neck actually plays GREAT!!
Also, the top is quilted maple, not a veneer or photofinish! Not the most flamed piece of wood, of course, at this price, but I don't like highly figured tops, anyway.
These pics aren't so good, b/c I don't have time for nice ones, but this will give you all the basic idea:

I dont think they ship Agile to the UK... I might be wrong though.
-
i've heard it's cheaper to buy a korean tokai than ship an agile over here, sambo...
but those are nice pics, ben- I like those blue bursts, where it's lighter in the middle and gets darker towards... you get the idea...
:D

phit 'tar my friend! hows she sound stock? lol
-
I left it in the office over the w/e. I'll play it amplified on Monday night.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! You get a new guitar and don't at least give it a test run!?!!?
That's like finding a hot naked chick in your bed and telling her you'll be back on Monday!
Seriously those Agile guitars look sweet for the money. Congrats!

Aww - C'mon Ben
I'm bringing a few nice guitars for you to look at at the LGS
But glad that we have a fan in Phil :)
Interesting photos - left handed guitar with the piccy reversed to look right handed. (can I claim my anorak prize now?)
-
Ben
so what do ya think of the Agile now you have had lil more time with it?
I really have GAS for a Agile Ghost (but sadly Mr.Gibson put paid to them making them anymore). The Ghost look really cool Explorer copies!
Only finding Dillon and maybe Hamer Standard (cheap enough to "play around with") apart from a tru Gibson.
