Title: Miracle man vs brute force
Post by: aris17561 on June 21, 2020, 02:08:26 PM
Hey guys , I bought the brute force for my les Paul seeking a brutal sound with plenty of attack . I ended up for some reason having a tone not so brutal and closer to a rock tone . The attack is ok but the palm mutes and the triplets are lacking gain in contrast to my other guitars which have dimarzios , Nailbomb , jb etc... is this normal for brute force and do you believe I will find what I am seeking with miracle man ?

I don't think as many people use the Miracle Man in Les paul as you'd think.  It might not be to everyones taste as whilst you get a tight bottom end and screaming high end the Miracle Mans huge low mids piled on top on the les pauls huge low mids is only a great idea if you're after something niche or need to balance out something missing from your amp.  I can if you're using a JCM800 it could work well but i've never owned that amp.

Never used or heard a brute force so can't comment.

If you want BROOTZ in a Les Paul a painkiller or black hawk are crushing.  Painkiller for more grind and black hawk for a more saturated active vibe but ''juicier'' than an EMG.  Both are just absolute flame throwers in a Les Paul...... with those the last thing you'll worry about is either not sounding metal.

I think these comments are fair with regard to the solid body type Les Pauls

Some Les Pauls I have experienced though such as the '90s Studios with the chambered bodies are seriously lacking in oomph and might benefit from a Miracle Man.  If your guitar feels quite light this might be the case.  In any case listen to your guitar unplugged and try to work out where it might need a bit extra

I can confirm that the Black Hawk is a complete beast.  I have two of the alnico sets.  I also like the Impulse in Les Pauls, but it is a bit more polite than the alnico BH
