Title: Impulse set in six string non-baritone guitars
Post by: Dave Sloven on July 27, 2020, 01:46:08 PM
I've been testing out an Impulse set in a couple of six string guitars, a 2007 Gibson SG Special Faded Worn Yellow and a 2013 Schecter C-1 Blackjack ATX.

The Gibson is 24.75" scale, mahogany neck set into a mahogany body, rosewood fingerboard. Tone Pros bridge and tailpiece, TUSQ XL nut, Grover Roto-Grip tuners with lightweight buttons, 500K Mojotone CTS pots and 0.022uf WD Music PIO caps.

The Schecter is 25.5" scale, mahogany neck set into a mahogany body, ebony fingerboard, Gotoh 510FB bridge (string-through body), TUSQ XL nut, Gotoh MGT tuners, 550K BKP CTS pots (master tone is push-pull coil split), 0.022uf BKP Jensen cap.

Both are tuned to C standard with D'Addario EXL117 11-56 strings.

The Gibson has previously had a 490T/490R set and an alnico War Pig set.

The Schecter has previously had a AHB-1 Blackout set (active) and an alnico Black Hawk set.

I'm going to play the Schecter with it for a bit more and then I'll get back to you with a review.

I much prefer it in the Schecter so far
