It seem's George Lynch is trying summit techie.
He is starting a "Guitar Dojo" for online students.
Online video,TAB,theory etc. lessons, exclusive chat/email to George.
Says enrolling now $29.95 a month.
Wonder how good that will be? Have done online stuff before (not music) and worked really well (with busy time frame etc.). NOT my cup of cha but interesting.

I enrolled for 6 months. I will let you all know how it goes!

In the worst case, if it never gets off the ground, I figger I'll have some $$ stored up at the Mob Shop. :)

I think it's a great thing that he's doing, and can't wait to see how it's implemented!!

ps - Lynch Rules!!

Ben
am not surprised to hear this :)
I think it is VERY interesting.
I have done courses online and had regular internet chat with professors and email access etc. and for me it worked VERY well, in fact HATE the "normal" classroom after this (although horses for courses as it does req. ALOT of discipline).
I hope it works well and yes PLEASE do report back with your experiences.
Also, what happened to George? It was reported like a week ago he had collapsed!
Nick

lynch is awesome.

Don't like the way he's always doing stuff for money, but i obviously can't say that if I were in his position that I'd do anything differently...

I think greg howe was or is doing something similar to this, its a good idea but I kinda got the feeling you don't get much for your cash. What with so many good free lessons on the internet these days.
I would be really interested in seeing how Lynch plays the silly fast part at the end of the solo to into the fire as i can't seem to work it out and all the tabs I've got are wrong.

I posted about this a while back and I stick to my comment - why doesn't he just start making NEW music instead of re-working (ruining) his old classics and releasing cr@p live footage.

I love Lynch but this does sound about as dodgy as can be. I doubt if it will ever happen as his site (which I've visited for years) is about the worst for updates I've seen.

He apparently collapsed from dehydration just after a gig last week but god knows if that's the real reason.

Uli Roth is doing a similar thing - http://www.sky-academy.com/

BTW has anybody seen his bloody horrible new ESP signature V - I doubt I'll every see him play that one in anything other than an advert.

For a guy with all that talent he sure knows how to waste time.

I would die if somebody gave me an Epiphone CAMO Zakk custom - it's horrible.

I just couldn't keep it but I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings.

Ah, but it'd look pretty sexy with some BKP custom camo covered pups (miracle men, of course)

Haha! I just saw the George Lynch action figure advertised on the website.
I'm gonna buy two and make them fight

On the dojo, it seems quite an interesting idea but I don't know how much it's worth it, there's a lot of good free stuff on the net.

I've just been to the George Lynch site and it says:

THE DOJO IS OPEN!

I need to know these special secrets......

Ben, I know you are a paid up member - how about a quick review "glasshopper"?

GEORGE LYNCH’s Online Guitar Dojo Launches To Rave Reviews
2006-06-05 08:14:01

According to PRWeb.com, after a year in development, and months of anticipation, students who pre-enrolled in GEORGE LYNCH's (ex-DOKKEN) revolutionary online guitar training dojo, received their first lesson on June 1, 2006.

Within an hour of its launch, the site was flooded with positive reviews from students who felt that the dojo not only met their expectations, but also far exceed them. A sample of the many comments, include:

“I’m sooooo overwhelmed, holy cow! I love the dojo! Trident White is amazing! can't wait to hear more, wow!”

“I'm so overwhelmed right now running around in here I didn’t try the video this is amazing! You guys did such and awesome job!”

“If your on the fence on if to join. I highly recommend it, I doubt you'll be disappointed.”

Designed for a limited number of serious guitarists at intermediate and advanced levels, the online platform allows students to study exclusively with Lynch through the power of the Internet. Offered in Semester programs that model the college semester system, and inspired by the set-up of a Karate studio, the web-based application presents video, audio, and tablature featuring elements never revealed by Lynch in any interview, instructional DVD, or publication. Additionally, Lynch welcomes discussions and feedback, and offers critiques of students’ compositions.

Arguably one of Lynch’s most ambitious ventures to date, the dojo is indeed a labor of love for the prolific heavy metal guitarist who envisioned the online training dojo as a way to reach out to the many fans who requested advice and lessons from him. In months to come, George hopes to continue to provide impressive content to the site and offer lessons that will help to inspire the students who subscribe to his guitar dojo.
