Hi, I'm new here. Been a BK user for about 8 years though, and I've built up a pretty healthy collection in that time.
A few years ago, I bought a uncovered Holy Diver for a Charvel SoCal direct from BK. It didn't work out in that guitar, and eventually found a home in an LP R9 that I wanted to have a bit more heft than a PAF. After a while, the uncovered look wasn't working for me, so I found another HD s/h in raw nickel on Reverb. Arrived and I installed it in the guitar, but it just didn't sound even close to the same. It came out soon after.
I was looking at the covered one the other day, and saw that there are short pole piece screws installed in it. The uncovered one has long screws and so does every picture that I've found online. This got me interested. The covered one reads 15.6k, which is spot on for an HD. It came with all of the packaging which is for an HD in raw nickle. The DC resistance on the serial card checks out, as do all of the other specs.
So, was the HD ever done with short screws, or have they been changed?
Cheers,
Ian
