Got a new amp yesterday gigged it for the first time last night, it's a Carlton Camel, a very small scottish firm that hand made these little beauties they're now none existant no idea why.
These amps are a rare little treasure of the british isles.
anyway i recorded this little ditty using the usual cheapo M.E. SM57 copy infront of the amp the cleans are VHII and Irish Tour in neck/middle selection.
the leads are a VHII, maybe a few notes on the miracle man not sure can't remember if i changed pickups during the improvisation.

Good stuff.

Wow really nice tone, those Carlton amps sound awesome
-
Did you buy the amp from axesrus.com?
-
i certainly did.
-
Sounds nice, especially the cleans. Does this amp manufacturer have a website?
-
well he's a nice man....and only about 2 miles away..so easy to get parts
-
sgmypod: yea the guy seems fantastic he was really kind and even made sure nobody else could buy the amp for a few days without a deposit not many people will do that.
hunter: the firm went bust in the mid 90's and there is very little information available about these amps.

all tube? or solidstate? coz they did a bucket load of solidstate stuff which also sounds fantastic!
-
it is an all valve amp. they are called smooth tubes.they look like valves, but inside the tubes they have small circuit boards with components on them.

yea the smooth tube series isnt a valve amp the "full valve" series are the tube/valve amps. but seriously dont underestimate the Smooth Tube series they sound so much like valve amps it's unbelievable.
