I would like to hear Nailbombs screaming with pinch harmonics, i've been studying both the Nailbombs and Miracle Mans on here and Nailbomb has come out on top but only just, the one flaw it has is that it doesn't have the harmonics that the Miracle Man has.
I like Zakk Wyldes tone a lot but the Nailbombs sounds more beefy than the Miracle Mans, i want beef and screaming harmonics, point me in the right direction!
-
The Nailbomb has great harmonics just like the MM. Ill have a listen through some of my old Nailbomb demos and see if there is one that may help.
-
nailbomb has no problem with harmonics my mate thom uses them and his pinch's rule! Ill see if i can get him to record a clip.
-
Which is more beefy, Nailbomb or Miracle man?
-
Touch call!! I would say the nailbomb as its less compressed sounding than the MM. Thats not a pop at the MM its just the Nailbomb sounds more open. My opinion and i have owned both but in different guitars so hard to be exact.
-
I'd say the Nailbomb has more aggressive mids, and the miracle man has a huge tight bottom end and smooth screaming high end.
Its like comparing an angry kick boxer and a heavyweight wrestler.
-
the MM tracks in the bass really tight if u've ever played a DiMarzio Evolution u'll know what i mean by this, the mids are slightly backed off on the MM with a screaming high end thats not too sharp just rolls over as it's about to get too harsh quite bloody well voiced, really great for people like me who want to hear every single note when they're picking fast. I couldnt think of a better bridge pickup for my style of playing than the MM.
The Nailbomb is more more mmm wide spread in it's sound sings a little more but when it comes to getting down and dirty it does it with a huge big wide spread of orangey browny goodness lol, the neck pickup to me on the nailbomb set is a isnt quite as thick sounding as it could be but still really suits the bridge model ooh and they clean up miles better than the MM's.
-
You really need a loud ceramic magnet pickup (or EMGs but passives do them better IMO) for those Zakk Wylde like pinch harmonics. The Nailbombs will do pinch harmonics for sure, but as good of a Zakk Wylde pinch harmonic as a ceramic like the Miracle Man say ;)
-
Indy's description of the miracle man sounds like my mate's girlfriend- sorry, back to topic.
-
^ Sounds like my ex too, his welcome to her!!
For me I think that the MM gets the pinch stuff easier than a Nailbomb when i tried them both out last year.
Also while were are chatting about Nailbombs, would any of you users say that they could get EVH's later 'Brown Sound' when he was using Soldanos?
-
if i wanted Zakk sound, i would buy the warpig, but that is just me, don't know if that was what it was designed for or if i just dreamed that (which happens)
-
Yeah i was just about to say, i'm more in favour of the warpigs now, so can someone do a zakk wylde style warpig clip that would be great :D
-
The Miracle Man IS the Zakk Sound
-
Warpig = Early Sabbath?
Dunno, but will have some soon to let ya know if I can Zakk'em (gotta drink case of Heinies first though :))
-
i was always confused about the warpig. Iommi didn't have that high output did he?! and i also read in a magazine review (i think it's on the BKP site actually) that it was modelled after Zakk Wylde - and that just doesn't make sense...
-
Sounds good though :)
Know Zakk behaves like a Pig and references the current War in his shows but..............
Songwise it's Sabbath.
Don't care, they will peel paint
-
Well in a review on BKP's site by a magazine, it says the harmonics scream off the fingerboard or something like that, and that it is quite Zakky.
-
Many have said they sound like an EMG 85 or 81, pends who's jaw is waggling at the time. Which is of course the "blandness" of active choice for Mr.Wylde.
However :) I do believe his Ozzmosis would say that the Miracle Man is voiced for the Weel Wylde One.
But what the heck do I know, I'm still BKP'less at present.
-
Same :( And it still could be like that for a long time since i decided to get a new amp before i get my new guitar and put BK's in it.
