Just in case anyone is trawling through that den of debauchery known as eBay... There appear to be more and more Chinese rip-off copies appearing there - take a look at this 'Geniune USA Gibson Les Paul" - if you are not convinced, go back to the transaction on April 27th from the seller.

There appear to be loads of Fenders coming out too.

I pointed this out to one of the bidders and she replied to tell me that large companies made mega bucks by getting things produced for peanuts in the far East and then selling them for a fortune.

As far as I could tell she thought that Gibson made stuff in China and badged it 'Made in USA'...  

When you start looking at the stuff that is coming out of China it is frightening - a bit more attention to detail and it would be easy for someone to fall for it.

^ yep, i know. When guys like us who half know what we're talking about (lol) have to take a second look, n00bs (or worse, relations buying gifts in good faith) are sure to be gipped.
