hi there,
i have a crawler hss-set and love it!
it came with no covers for the singlecoils. i put some black plastic-covers on them and now the alnicos are looking way to much outside.
can i put the whole pu in waxbath to fill the space in the cover and let the alnicos end with top of cover or is there any other idea?
hope you get what i mean!?!

Did you order them from us? covers are always supplied with our single coils. You dont need to pot single coil covers on, they are just there to protect the coil windings.

yes, I ordered them directly from BKP. I find the magnets look way to much over the cover. I always hit them on the middle pu with my plec.
Can i push the magnets down with a tool or should I saw them shorter?
Itīs only a problem with the middle pu, wich is placed excactly where i play with my right hand.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Why not just lower the pickup?
Is it screwed down as low as it will go?
I've had problems with the middle single coil on an HSH Ibanez but you really have to adjust your right hand technique or say goodbye to that pickup.
DON'T butcher the pickup - sell it.

here is a detailed picture of the pickups. you can see, that the cover does not realy fit in height.

looks pretty normal to me :? if it's that much trouble i'm sure if yu sent it bak it could be sorted?
-
Thats how far the covers fit on any single coil. By the look of it that pickup is pretty old. We use shorter length magnets now, and have a different type of silicone tube to place between the screw and the cover.

I'd just point to Mr Indysmith and Mr Tom in relation to another post - Single coils do have a rubber or silicon screw jacket/tube - look at the picture :D
See I wasn't lying
