Hi, I have a set of blackguard flat 50s in my Telecaster (ash body maple fingerboard) I like them and they sound great so will keep hold of them for another Tele but the problem I have with them in my main gigging telecaster is they sound so much louder and bassy than my other main live guitar which is a Les Paul fitted with mules, I have lowered the bridge pickup on the Tele which has helped clear up the bass some what but still the bridge is loud and powerful.
Like I say it's a great pup and can't say a bad word about it but I would like the pickup in that guitar to Match the output and frequencies a little more to the mules so I don't have to keep adjusting my amp to much when change guitars.
The flat 50 bridge is just over 10k , alnico v and 42 guage wire I believe.
I have a Fender CS Nocaster bridge laying around that is around 7k alnico 3 and I think 43 guage wire.
Before I start pulling my Tele apart and unsoldering wires and pickups can anyone Tell me if the Nocaster bridge will be closer to the mules in regards to output volume and frequency or pretty much the same as the flat 50?
I don't mind more highs as can just roll back the tone pot but if it just as loud and bassy as the flat 50 bridge I won't bother taking the time of installing.
Thanks
