Title: Is this the right stuff?
Post by: _tom_ on May 12, 2006, 05:21:35 PM
My input jacks on my HRDx have gone a bit funny so before replacing them I'll give them a spray with some contact cleaner. Just want to make sure what I'm gonna get is the right stuff - I dont want to damage anything inside the amp. Heres what I was looking at -

Also, how should I spray this stuff into the jacks? Like how long for etc, and straight in or at an angle? I think I'm looking too much into this as its just a bit of spray but I'm scared to spray too much cleaner into my amp

Cheers

It is contact cleaner Tom for sure, i've used it on some of my old amps and it does sort out crackles ect. It shouldn't cause any problems but I'm not really qualified to say and I'd hate for you to mess your amp up. Bainzy is your man for amps!

Yup - should be ok
We use it for noisy switches
Pots too although I believe there is something better for pots

I use Switch Cleaning Solvent myself for the jobs you've mentioned.

It comes in exactly the same cana s the 1 you mentioned, but has a yellow label instead of Red :)
