Post by: JamesHealey on May 12, 2006, 08:23:28 PM
HSHH config

Miracle Man, Irish Tour, VHII, Cold Sweat

all in one strat yes?

Selector Positions

1, MM Humbucking          (Big Raw Lead/Rhythm)
2, IT + Coil Tapped MM   (Suprisingly good clean)
3, VHII                          (Midrange Voice of heaven)
4, IT + Coil Tapped VHII (Best Clean Tone known to man)
5, Cold Sweat                 (Neck Pickup Shred Fest)

anyone know anyone who could route my strat and do the wiring job haha?

It'll look like Nigel Tufnel's Music Man!

That's a lot of routing it may cause problems with the neck.

Pm Jonathon at Feline for a realistic answer!

You will only just get 3 HBs in there or two HB's and a single

Am I quick or what??

Put 3 HBs and use 3 x 3way mini toggles (on/offf/on) to give HB/off/Single coil modes.
That will give you the most versatility.
Or use a 5 way and have 3 on/off coil tap switches

If the coils you are using are too close together you wont get the best single coil mixes out of them anyway - too much phase cancellation

Only the neck on "Frankie" - my first guitar I ever put together - that was an ESP neck.
Must replace it with a Feline one some day

3 HB and 1 SC: lots of string pull from the magnets. A piece of advice: don't set the pickups too high or you will loose all the sustain.  :?

I don't think your proposed pickup configuration is going to be versatile enough. You need an H/S/P90/H setup.

I agree with JT, dont try to cover too much with one guitar. You should rather specialize your guitars, if you catch my drift...

Hav you seen Steve Morse's (Deep Purple) Music Man? It's a HSSH setup and he can get sooo many sounds. I saw him live in concert, and he used the same guitar for the entire thing.
