I have a missisippi queen neck pup and was wondering if I should partner it with the bridge one I have in my sg or put it in the neck of my les paul. How would it make the les paul sound in the middle position?

I have only used them in mahogany guitars, though at Music Live Tim had a goldtop with them in and it sounded great. What is the other pickup in your Les Paul? The MQ necks are pretty powerful (I have one partnered with a Warpig in an Explorer!). 2 MQ's in the SG gives great sounds - we had that on the stand at LGS this time.

thanks for the advice. My bridge pick up is the stock burstbucker that came with the guitar when I bought it new last year.Do bnp do a better 59 replacement

I have a MQ neck and a Mule bridge and there's no competition in turns of power output.

The Mule is the classic hot 59 replacement, but thye also make variations on this, the Riff-Raff, Black Dog, VHII and Emerald. Each of them has its own variation on the sound, but all are great! I would look at perhaps the Black Dog or VHII if you want something a little hotter.
