Title: irish tour bridge clip
Post by: balde on May 26, 2005, 09:48:13 PM
Now this is a bridge pickup clip.

Pickup: irish tour bridge
guitar: american 62' reissue strat with rosewood fingerboard
Effects: keeley crybaby wah mod and keeley ts9 baked mod(everything at 12 o´clock) a boss dd5 digital delay was running through the loop of the amp with a very mild setting.
Amp: Matchless brave clone (35 watt 2 EL34 amp)

recorded with a 2x12 open back cabinet with 2 custom made speakers (very similar to matchless take on the celestion vintage 30) close miked with a shure SM57. Then to a 12 channel Mackie mixing console with flat eq to soundcard. No compression or reverb added to the mix, just some slight eq.

I hope you enjoy the clips!!!
JT, here you can take an idea of what the ts9 sounds like. Check the other clip with the keeley bd2 phat mod.

The wah is a common dunlop gcb-95 crybaby wah model modded by keeley.
The mod is basically a true bypass mod (it had an awful tone sucking when off) Still, Robert makes some changes to the components and puts 3 internal trimpots that control the effect. I never screwed with them, just left his settings, he knows his work right? I believe it´s a nice wah, still i wish i could listen to what he does to the vox wahs!!!! goddamn that must be nice!!

I've modded my own JH1 wah with help from Robert-it was only a true bypass mod but it made a hell of a difference.

Great!!! Is it the new or the old sd1 mod? if it´s the new one, a clip of that would be awesome!!! If you can, that is, of course.
Regarding the amp settings, both the bd2 and the ts9 clips had the same amp setting. I always use the master at max (kind of not having a master volume amp) and work the volume form the gain pot. So it was, master max, treble 11 o´clock, bass 2 o´clock and gain at 9 o´clock, maybe a very little more. Gainwise, that amp setting would be on the verge of breakup.
i Hope you like the sd1 and i liked your playing a lot mate!

:guitar4: oops ! sorry about that "willo" it is rather good i must say. :D
Thanks for the reply "Balde" knowing what the settings where on your amp helps give a better indication of how good the ts9 + bd2 are. great demo`s & good tone & nicely played. i`m not sure if the sd1 is the new one or not it has a flick switch under the Drive knob. HJM seems to think its one of the new ones :?:
when i do the next demo i`ll use the sd1 and let you no where and on what O.K  :?:  :D  :D  8)
