Title: More Bare Knuckl's needed!
Post by: clivey on May 16, 2006, 08:40:17 PM
Hi guys, need some advice!

I recently got some Crawlers + a Mother's Milk fitted to one of my Vigier Excalibur guitars, and they sound awesome!  The only downside is that my other Vigier is feeling a little left out, and needs some Bare Kuckle magic too!

I have toyed with the idea of more Crawlers, but I think I want a bit more power in the bridge position this time.  The guitar has a Seymour Duncan JB bridge and Jazz neck combination - what BK's  would give similar results?  I understand the Holydiver is like a JB but better, so with that in mind what would compliment it in the neck position?  Also, what about the mid position single coil?  I should say, the humbuckers need to have good coil tapped sounds, something the Crawlers do great.

Ohh, another question: can BK do seven string versions of their pickups?  If so, what would you guys reccomend for a more metal sound - think John Petrucci on Awake.

Thanks for your help!

yes BKP can do 7 string versions - for john petrucci metal i'm thinking the miracle man, but i may be overruled...
I'd go for a Holydiver calibrated sets - as each pickup in each set is designed specifically to complement the other.

Miracle Man, Nailbomb or Cold Sweat maybe?

My vote's for a slightly overwound nailbomb in the bridge and a cold sweat in the neck. But hell, I'm sure there are some other great options for Petrucci tone, especially the Miracle Man. I really love his tone too. But his tone is from his fingers and his Mesas.
