Title: BKPs for a Custom Built Guitar
Post by: bob109lr on May 17, 2006, 04:26:16 PM
I was thinking about getting a guitar built up around an old Ibanez neck that i have lying around, musicman axis style body with through body stringing.  I wanted some pups that would work well clean or high gain, the most important bit is that they have to sound good when blended with piezos.  I was thinking about the nailbombs, they seem to be getting a lot of praise on here.. Any help would be great,

Cheers
Bob

Nailbombs are excellent. They do pretty much everything well. Another one you might think about is the Crawler set.

cheers, thanks a lot for your help, checking out the crawler clips now.  I also like the sound of the gibson 57 classics but find the bridge pu to be either too muddy or too thin, bright and sharp when lpaying clean.  Im actually surprised by how much i like the crawlers, i tought id be leaning more towards the nailbombs..

Thanks again,
Bob
