I know that the BK website suggests to use .047 mfd caps with their humbucking pups but is anyone here using .022mfd caps with their bare knuckles? I was just curious.
How do they sound?

a 0.022uF cap sounds bassier as you roll off the tone pot
I like the 47nF (0.047uF) cap best.

Erm...I thought that the higher the value, the more treble is lost?
Also, it's usual that .022 are used with 250k pots, and .047 with 500k pots. SOmetimes if you use .047 with 250k pots you loose treble even with the tone on 10, at least I think so from my experiments!

ok great. .047 uf it is.

To my ears the .022mfd has a more pronounced mid part way through the tone travel, almost like a half c--ked wah-on a 500K.

.022 is my cap of choice, after several days of messing with my warpig-
in my opinion, it provides the most useful range of 'q'- .047 gets distant, and "balloony-tunes"-the most important thing is to "A/B" the tone control sweep -Even if yer quick with an iron, it will be at least a minute between sounds/levels-"what the hell did that other one sound like again?"-Try recording both caps into two separate tracks within the D.A.W. of yer choice with EXACTLY THE SAME SETTINGS-(on the guitar, preamp,if you use one, etc.)-this way you can hear them both, or solo/mute...-This is also a good way to adjust p.up output levels on multiple guitars that use the same pickups-I would also recommend setting up a new pickup experiment with a reliable clean amp sound-Even if you play Death Metal, you don't want your pickup "farting out", now do you ?
Try everything, and go back to what works...

I've fitted a .022 on my MiracleMan Charvel, I think I prefer the range with that Pup, the cut is not as severe.

I tried 'em all- .047,.033, &.022...went back to the 22, and still there...
-I play rhythm with the tone control almost all the way down, and get my edge from my preamp-roll the tone a little upwards for lead presence-works great!-
-in my opinion, the others roll off to much treble, and don't have the same wide useable range- at least for my detuned, high gain antics...
